Breif Activity:

• You are a company which makes airplanes.

• I am (Trainer) a customer who intends to start an airline & wants to buy airplanes of only one type - thus only from one company. I want  large quantity & can buy as many as you make

• You are all competitors. The winner gets a 10 year order for planes.

• Your task is to make and sell paper airplanes as per my (the customer’s) requirements.

• The customer is willing to buy as many planes that meet his requirements for Rs.5 Crore/- each.

• The team that makes the highest profit shall be the winner.

• My requirements are:

– Length of the airplane minimum four inches, and it should be a plane with open wings.

– All planes need to be identical

– Each airplane should have been tested 3 times for free flight & should fly a minimum distance of 10 ft.

– Each plane should be certified as tested after flying – this will decipher the quality of the airplane

– Each team (company) will have a distinct marking/logo on its planes.

– Time for planning 20 minutes; for execution 25 minutes.

Raw Material will be provided on credit at the rate of Rs 10 crore/- per sheet. Indent for sheets has to be placed only once at the end of the planning period.
